High Peak Radio started broadcasting on 4th April, 2004. It is one of the few independent commercial stations in England not owned by a large media group, and is locally-owned and managed. It was set up following a series of trial broadcasts starting in June 1999. Five broadcast groups made a bid to win the licence. We are the successful group.
